Hayley - Swimbabies Instructor
"Hello there, I am Lucy, founder and owner of Swimbabies. I take care of the administration and photography, but most importantly the teaching. I have three small children who have all been through an underwater Swimbabies programme, but the number of children that have learned with me must now go into the thousands!
I hope you enjoy your time with Swimbabies..."
Swimbabies - The story so far
Swimbabies was born in January 2002. I wanted to create a haven for parents and carers where they could attend quality classes and motivational sessions. The classes were an immediate success. We started off with 15 Swimbabies and have ended up filling six days a week with lessons, spread over two venues. I am now personally training up my fourth instructor, so you could say it has gone swimmingly well!
We have fast gained a brilliant reputation in West Sussex through word of mouth and personal recommendations from our happy clients. Many parents return with their new babies and all this has resulted in a waiting list as the telephone enquiries come in fast and furious...

Rio
"Hi I'm Rio! I found out about Swimbabies when I started to take my daughter Heidi to classes when she was five months old. I started to see the many benefits of baby swimming and Heidi and I have created a very close bond through swimming together. When I found out that Lucy was looking to train a third instructor, I jumped at the chance and started training in September 2006. Since then I've passed my ASA Level 1 & 2, St Johns Ambulance, Lifeguard course and Swimbabies training and I got an NVQ 2 in sports.
I enjoy the rewards of teaching baby swimming and I feel very privileged to work for such a fantastic company!"
Hayley
"I'm Hayley; I'm 18 years old and have worked for Swimbabies since December '07. I started as a lifeguard, but in March '08 I began my Swimbabies teacher training. I currently hold the STA beginners and full swim teacher qualifications which I gained in June and August '07 and also my NARS pool lifeguard qualification which I gained in October '05. I have been a keen swimmer ever since I can remember. I began swim lessons at age 4 and continued till the age of 14 swimming for Littlehampton Swim Club. I am also interested in Gymnastics, for which I used to compete at county level. I have many courses booked for the rest of 2008 including the ASA level 1 and level 2 teaching, ASA disability level 1, ASA adult and child and the RLSS Lifeguard. I have attended a workshop by Sports Coach UK on Safeguarding and Protecting children, and I also hold level 2 qualifications in Sports First Aid and Paediatric First Aid."
